My husband and I have been having a problem with our windows, and we wanted to know if anyone else was having the same problems (or knows how to fix it!).
We moved in last December, and had this problem right away. We get a tremendous amount of water and ice build-up on the inside of our windows -- to the point where it has damaged some of the drywall in the window sills. We had Centex come out right away last year and they put little foam spacers in our windows to "seal them" better, and they also added more caulk along the outside of the windows. They also tried to blame the problem on our blinds -- saying that they are too efficient and trap too much air against the window. Their solution last year was to have us keep our blinds open during the winter (which is not a very practical solution).
It is December again, and once again we are having the same problem. We have tried raising the temperature in our house, we have tried keeping our blinds completely open 24 hrs a day, and nothing seems to be doing it. Over the summer we even re-caulked the interior of all of the windows with a much more expensive and efficient caulk and still we are having this problem. We have tried calling Centex again, and they have not returned our call.
We are concerned about damage to the walls as well as the eventual growth of mold with all of this moisture. The only thing we can do to keep the moisture down is to lay towels in the window sill of every window which is obviously not the best solution.
Please, if anyone else is having or has had the same problem, we would like to know.

Sorry to hear about your condensation problem.
During winter times, we also have experienced condensation buildup on all of our windows, but not to the point of damaging the drywall. When there is condensation building up I just turn on our ceiling fans to help circulate the air.
From my understanding you will get condensation buildup when the temperature, as well as the relative humidity, inside the house is vastly different than the external temperature. So in the past few days, we have noticed more condensation than usual.
There are many potential reasons for the buildup. One of the most common is due to inadequate ventilation, maybe your home is insulated too well. Also there may be a hidden source of moisture such as a damp basement, plumbing problem or too many house plants.

Hi all!
We've not had any issues with our windows, other than them constantly cracking the caulking around them on the inside. About once a year I go around and redo them. No drywall damage.
No issues with moisture buildup either, and we have quality double-cell insulating blinds.
Of course, our humidity is typically about 20-25% in the winter, which is low.
